How we handle your data

Cookies use

a. Cookies to improve the functionality of our websites
Among other things, we use cookies to better understand how our websites are used and thus improve their attractiveness, content and functionality. Cookies help us, for example, to determine which subpages of our website are visited and which content users are interested in. For this purpose, we use Flash cookies and load time optimization cookies. These so-called "first party cookies" record, in particular, the number of times a page is accessed, the number of sub-pages viewed, the time spent on our websites, the order of the pages visited, which search terms led you to us, the country, region and, if applicable, the city from which access is made, which operating system and which Internet browser with which language setting you are using, as well as the proportion of mobile devices accessing our websites. Furthermore, we record movements, "clicks" and scrolling with the computer mouse in order to understand which areas of our website visitors are particularly interested in. The IP address of your computer transmitted for technical reasons is automatically anonymized and does not allow us to draw any conclusions about you.

As a registered user, you have the option of logging into our website with your registration data, i.e. "logging in". In this case, we also use cookies to identify you as a registered customer when you visit our website again within 28 days and to enable you to remain logged in. When you visit our website for the first time, we ask you via an overlay at the top of the screen whether you agree to the setting of cookies. You can agree there via the corresponding button. If you wish to revoke this later, please simply delete the cookies in your browser.

b. Cookies for usage-based online advertising
We reserve the right to also use information obtained by means of cookies from an analysis of the usage behavior of visitors to our websites in order to display specific advertising for certain of our products to you on our own websites. We believe that this benefits you as a user because we display advertising or content that we believe, based on your browsing behavior, matches your interests, so you are less likely to see randomly distributed advertising or specific content that is less likely to interest you.

c. To prevent "cookies" from being stored on your hard drive
You can set your Internet browser to prevent cookies from being stored on your hard drive or to ask you each time whether you agree to cookies being set. Once cookies have been set, you can also delete them at any time. You can find out how all this works in detail in the operating instructions for your browser. You can find an explanation in words and pictures for the Internet browsers Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Google Chrome under this Link: http://www.aboutcookies.org/Default.aspx?page=2. If you do not accept the storage of cookies, this may lead to functional restrictions of our offers.

Third Party Cookies

(1) Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). Google Analytics uses a specific form of "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. We would like to point out that on this website Google Analytics has been extended by the code "gat._anonymizeIp();" to ensure anonymized collection of IP addresses (so-called "IP masking"). Through IP anonymization on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google within the territory of the EU or the contracting states of the European Economic Community. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.
Google will use this information on our behalf for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data from Google. You can prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser software, see 7. c. above. You can also prevent the transmission of the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by using the link provided under the Link http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de available browser plug-in and install it. You can find more information about terms of use and privacy at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.html or under http://www.google.com/intl/de/analytics/privacyoverview.html.

(2) Google Adwords

This website uses Google AdWords, an analysis service of Google, and within the scope of Google AdWords the conversion tracking. Google AdWords places a cookie for conversion tracking on the hard drive of your computer (so-called "conversion cookie") when you click on an ad placed by Google. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If you visit certain pages on our website, Google and we can recognize that you have clicked on the ad and have been redirected to this page. The information obtained using the conversion cookies is used to create statistics for AdWords customers who use conversion tracking. Through these statistics, we learn the total number of users who clicked on the ad placed by Google and visited a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, we do not obtain any information with which it is possible to personally identify users. We cannot assign the data obtained to specific users.
In addition to conversion tracking, we also use the functions:

Remarketing
Target groups with common interests
User-defined target groups with common interests
Target groups ready to buy
similar target groups
Demographic and geographic focus.

With Google's remarketing function, we reach users who have already visited our website. This allows us to present our advertising to target groups that are already interested in our products or services. AdWords also uses user behavior on websites in Google's advertising network ("display network") over the last 30 days and the contextual search engine to determine the common interests and characteristics of users of our website. Based on this information, AdWords then finds new potential customers for marketing purposes whose interests and characteristics are similar to those of the users of our website. The target group-specific remarketing is carried out through the combined use of cookies, such as Google Analytics cookies and Google DoubleClick cookies.
Further information on the subject of terms of use and data protection in the context of Google AdWords can be found under this Link: http://www.google.de/policies/technologies/ads/.
